1963 Divco Milk Truck$69,750
“When I was a kid, the milkman, George, would give us rides in his milk truck. The rides were about 50 yards to the next house, but I always waited for George to come by. I thought it was so cool because he could drive standing up.†-- Bobby Martin of Maxmotive. Many people have fond memories of the days when milk was delivered fresh from the dairy right to their door. This customized1963 Divco Milk Truck is a tribute to those simpler times. Although it’s not likely that your milkman’s wheels were powered by a 330 horsepower hot rodded small block, or had cameras and an LCD screen to help with backing up, chances are good he drove a Divco. The unique build is a fresh body-off restoration with only 45 miles showing on the odometer. While constructed on a late model GMC Suburban chassis, this is a real Divco truck. The Detroit Industrial Vehicles COmpany specialized in multi-stop delivery trucks from 1926 until 1986, making the Divco delivery truck second only to the VW Beetle for the longest running production run of a single model. Set back under the cowl is a mean GM Performance small block with a big Holley Double Pumper on an Edelbrock intake and coated headers. The cool stance comes from an artful combination of an 8-inch chop on a body shortened a bold 22 inches, with an Air Ride suspension that can take it down low. A full array of Auto Meter gauges decorate the dash, and a custom floor shifter precisely controls the gear changes. Wide whites give it a vintage flair and the blue and white color scheme evokes the dairy themes of the ‘60s. The color theme carries through the interior, with a fully carpeted floor, complete headliner, and blue and white soft touch material on the walls. There’s plenty of room for cargo, and the finished load area means you can carry fragile or valuable items with no worries. The graphics are durable -- and removable -- vinyl. It’s a delightful bit of nostalgia -- a custom 1963 Divco Milk Truck.********** DISCLAIMER MAXmotive specializes in collectible classic and custom vehicles.
