Seller's Notes

Cmc has some the most desirable muscle cars on the market and this 1965 Pontiac GTO Factory Tri-Power is no exception. This fully documented Frame Off restored GTO has its full owners history and the original owner is still available to discuss her car with you! With only three owners from, and a methodical frame off restoration back to original details, this is a hard one to duplicate. Our GTO was ordered from new with 23 factory options and documented by Pontiac Historical Services to include the following options: WS Code 389 TRI POWER Engine 3X2 Carburetor 389 360 HP 10.75 Compression Ratio M-20 Wide Ratio HD 4 Speed Manual Transmission Safety Track Positraction Heavy Duty 3:55 rear axle Sport Ride springs 7:75x14 Redline Tires Sport Wood steering wheel Rally Gauge Cluster and Tachometer Push Button AM radio Verba-Phonic Speaker Instrument panel padded dash dual speed wiper with integrated window washer inside tilt mirror Dual Splitter exhaust back up lamps luggage (Trunk) lamp glove box lamp courtesy lamps Soft Ray tinted glass Door edge guard Rear window Defogger Seat Belts with outboard retractors Floor Mats (Front and Rear) The car is also color code correct having the original exterior Color code as E Nightwatch Blue Metallic. The original interior color is the correct Medium Blue code 217. Ownership history is very important when one claims to have an original Tripower GTO and we have the full ownership history. The car was purchased by Barber Worthy from Thomaston, Georgia. Barber is still available to discuss her GTO! Barber told me that she needed a commuter car to go to college and wanted a nice car. When she laid her eyes on the beautiful Nightwatch Blue exterior, she had to have it. She used the car as commuter and all the boys would chase her and try to buy her car. She drove the car all through Grad school and then decided to reach out to the guys inquiring about the car. Her father got wind of this, and said he loved the car and he would buy it if she sold it. Barber gave the car to her dad in 1971. Her father drove the car and enjoyed it all the way until 2008. In 2008 The original family sold the car for the first time. A local gentlemen from Georgia asked if the car was for sale, and the father said he would sell it only if the man would restore it like his other cars. The second owner gained possession of it and did a meticulous Frame Off restoration. He restored the car back to original and just sold it to us in 2020! The car had an incredible easy life in Georgia. Being an absolutely solid car, It had a very simple life. No drag racing, no young drivers tearing it up. It is very unusual to have such a clean ownership history on a factory built muscle car. The Frame Off Restoration started in 2008 and took many years to complete. The body was taken apart, the original engine was fully rebuilt along with the drivetrain. The chassis was professionally powder coated and then all new suspension, all line brake and fuel lines were installed. The car had every nut and bolt rebuilt on this car. The end result is a gorgeous GTO that was brought back to its original glory. Documentation is crucial to a Factory Tri-Power GTO and this one is documented with the following: Pontiac Historical Services (PHS) Documentation, Original Georgia title, Complete owners history, Restoration details, Original Pontiac Photo, Original Owners manual, Pontiac wire diagram, Passenger car specification, Comp Cam Card profile, Original title folder with original owners name and number on it. Amazing enough, she is still available at that same number. Powered by the original WS Code 389 Tri-Power engine producing 360 HP, this motor has been professional rebuilt and features a Comp Cams camshaft. The original 4 Speed transmission has also been rebuilt and brings the power to the ground through the original 3:55 Posi-traction rear end. All Codes and number will be provided below
