1970 Porsche 914-6
In 1968 Porsche and Volkswagen teamed up to produce a new model that would represent a joint venture between the two closely related companies; the 914. VW executed their version of the model by using a 1.7L flat four, mid-engined design while Porsche instead employed the 2.0L, carburated, flat six from the 911T. This motor produced 110 bhp and used the type 901, dog-leg, five-speed manual gearbox. Both versions of the car incorporated a Targa style removable hard top. Porsche would go on to produce some 3,300 examples of the 914-6 over a three year run from 1970 until 1972.
The car presented here was delivered to the USA in June of 1970. This example was ordered in a very attractive and unusual Metallic Green (which Porsche has just re-released and renamed ''Mamba Green''). This car has been treated to a full re-spray in this rare color . This car also sports chrome bumpers and Fuchs wheels. The 914-6 shows just over 72,400 miles. The is an excellent driver quality example that can be used regularly on your favorite back roads, rallies and to wow friends at cars & coffee weekends. It will make a very attractive addition to any collection.Contact Porsche Classic Manager, Michael Deeb, for more information and to purchase this Porsche Classic. email@example.com
