Excellent condition 1991 Peugeot 405 Mi16- The Mi16 is already a rare vehicle, very few were brought in for 1991, Peugeot's last year selling cars stateside, and very very few of those came in Sorrento Green- Only a small handful survive and this one is most certainly one of the nicest of them all. This car has been well maintained and kept in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition throughout its lifetime- When new, the Mi16 was praised for its excellent RWD like handling, excellent ride, incredibly comfortable seats and seating position, and of course the 150hp high revving 16v 4 cylinder. The Mi16 just recently received an Honorable Mention in Car and Drivers "Best Naturally Aspirated Engines of All Time" alongside some of the auto industries absolute highest performers. This example wears its 201k miles extremely well- Within the last 5000 miles the car received an engine out rebuild and reseal with new timing belt, clutch and anything else it needed to the tune of ~$4000. The car has been recently serviced with a fresh oil change , new battery and safety inspection and got a clean bill of health- Quite a few hours have been spent sorting 25 years of French niggles including a manual seat belt conversion (remember the 1990s and "auto" seatbelts??) Relined headliner, sunroof restoration, drivers power seat repair, and various minor trim fixes. This car has also been treated to a set of LHD Euro glass headlights which are an enormous improvement over the original DOT units. I personally just drove this car from San Francisco to Los Angeles and back and the car didn't skip a beat and returned 26mpg while cruising I5 at a solid clip ;) . The car passed CA smog, has been recently detailed and is ready to provide another Francophile with some modern but unique transportation.
